Cancellation policy

No refunds will be given or cancellations accepted once bookings have been received for kids classes.

Terms & Conditions - Kids Classes
  • A deposit is required.
  • Balance of courses fee is due no later than commencement.
  • An invoice will be sent out with an enrollment acknowledgement which will discuss any additional materials that may be required as well as advice for avenues of exploration appropriate to the workshop.
  • Deposits and fees for kids classes are non refundable.
  • Refunds will be given "only" if a class/workshop is cancelled by HipCat.

Safety

As this is a working printery environment, any student(s) who are unsafe in that environment will be asked to leave.

Whenever possible it is my position that negotiation and explanation are the best way forward. Three warnings and explanations will be given so that small humans can understand why they must act safely in the environment.

Children are kept away from all serious risks within the environment (to the best of my abilities) but art and craft can be hazardous and parents are encouraged to attend classes (free) to participate and assist. In the event of a serious safety breach then the three warnings "may be waived" and a student will be asked to leave.

Children are tightly managed and materials and equipment that is particularly hazardous will not be encountered by students. Processes that are employed are safe but cutting blades, paint and other materials may be used and there is always some risk.

No crocs, thongs or shorts; covered footwear is required.

Group Enrollments

Class sizes are limited for childrens workshops and vary depending on the workshop resources. Normally the number is limited to no more than 8 students.

Pay the Rent Policy

HipCat has a "pay the rent" policy, which means that if you are a first nations person (from any nation), unemployed, have a disability, are the kid of a single mum or dad, identify with a minority or have a disadvantaged background of any sort, you can contact me and we can chat about getting you into a class or workshop with the minimum amount of (or no) financial burden.

Humans ought to be kind to each other! Reach out, we're better than we know!
